A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and north Carolina state university to use for research on renewable energy, energy storage, and coal ash reuse.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina the sum of five million dollars ($5,000,000) for the 2014‑2015 fiscal year to be allocated equally between the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and North Carolina State University for research projects on renewable energy, energy storage, and coal ash reuse.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2014.
