A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE SOUTH PANOLA HIGH SCHOOL "TIGERS" JUNIOR VARSITY CHEERLEADERS FOR WINNING THEIR FIRST UCA NATIONAL CHEER CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, we join the South Panola Junior Varsity Cheer Team members, coaches, faculty, parents, students and sponsors in congratulating their hard work and impressive performances at the UCA National Cheer Championship in Orlando, Florida, on February 2, 2026; and
WHEREAS, South Panola Varsity Cheerleaders competed in the largest division and placed in the top 30% at the National High School Game Day Championship in Orlando, Florida, on February 2, 2026; and
WHEREAS, a special congratulations to South Panola High School Junior Varsity Cheerleaders for winning the National High School Junior Varsity Game Day Championship. This is the first UCA National title in school history; and
WHEREAS, the South Panola Junior Varsity Cheer Team members are: Maggey Austin, Mckenzie Blackburn, Lyla Kate Burkes, Alyssia Burnette, Melanie Cannon, Adilyn Cole, Brooke Copeland, Harlee Kate Crumpler, Katie Daniel, Marlee Donahue, Ava Eckles, Amiyah Farmer, Sara Henri Hannaford, Mari Preslee Helms, Abbey Kate Johnson, Kadynce Johnson, Jermiyah Lee, Baylee Little, Braydee Clair Little, Annalynn Morgan, Payton Nicholson, Raimah Poole, Alycia Robertson, Taylor Russell, Lela Sanford, Khole Sneed, Hanna Talley, Destiney Thompson, Madison Turner, Adie Ware and Taniyah Willingham; and Coaches Mary Booth, Sara Helen Ware, Tori Beth Jenkins and Aerial Sanford; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize these student athletes who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the South Panola High School "Tigers" Junior Varsity Cheerleaders for winning their first UCA National Cheer Championship, and extend our best wishes to the team, coaches, faculty and administration of South Panola for future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the South Panola Junior Varsity Cheer Team, forwarded to South Panola Principal David Odom and the South Panola School District School Board, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
