A RESOLUTION COMMENDING JEAN E. NALL FOR HER DISTINGUISHED SERVICE IN THE MISSISSIPPI SENATE.

     WHEREAS, Jean E. Nall from Clinton, Mississippi, served with distinction for 33 years in the Mississippi State Senate (1979-2012); and it is with great pride that we acknowledge the successful career of this public servant whose selfless service has been a blessing to the Mississippi State Senate; and

WHEREAS, Jean is a woman of integrity and hard work, and there is an acknowledged respect of our esteemed colleague, a gentlewoman and enlightened Senate employee.  Jean was responsible for preparing the introduction record and referral of Senate Bills and the engrossing and enrolling of Senate Bills, which is an extremely vital step in the legislative process.  This process included many late night hours of document preparation and proofreading; and

WHEREAS, a Louisville, Mississippi, native, Jean has had many great moments in her life, given her impressive body of work, professional accomplishments, personal sense of grace, community service, and is held as a precious jewel in the hands of all the many people whose lives she has touched; and

WHEREAS, Jean E. Nall, born Jean Eaves, attended Draughn's Business College, Jackson, Mississippi.  She was married to Aldert S. Nall II for 49 years, a retired Sergeant Major in the Mississippi National Guard, and World War II and Korean War Veteran.  Jean has one daughter, Lucia Nall, a CPA practicing in Mississippi.  Jean has one son, Aldert S. Nall III, who is married to Karen Nall, and is the owner of a wholesale printing business in Houston, Texas.  Jean has one grandchild, Aldert S. Nall IV; and

     WHEREAS, Jean has been a supporter, member and Sunday School Teacher at Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton, Mississippi, for 47 years; and

WHEREAS, Jean's service has been marked by her commitment to success and recognized leadership, sound judgment, and fairness.  She has set the highest standard in all of her many roles, as a mother, Legal Assistant and Advisor to Attorney Martha W. Gerald for 10 years, member of the Administration of the Court of Federal Judge Harold Cox for many years, and her tireless support in the Mississippi Senate and as a true friend; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we note the accomplishments of this most gracious lady, who is to be honored for her record of achievement and legacy of kindness and dedication to all in Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and recognize Jean E. Nall, whose outstanding service enriched everyone with whom she was associated, and we wish Jean and her family much success in their future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Jean with affection and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
