A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING TIPPAH COUNTY CIRCUIT CLERK JAMES E. DEES FOR 28 YEARS OF DEDICATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICE ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.

     WHEREAS, Tippah County Circuit Clerk James E. Dees has announced he will not seek re-election following 28 years of dedicated and professional public service to the people of his county; and

     WHEREAS, under James Dee's leadership, the Office of Circuit Clerk in Tippah County made the transition from an older, hand-kept record system to computerized information management in every category from judgments, civil cases, criminal history management, marriage and elections; and

     WHEREAS, by virtue of his longtime employment status with the state, all circuit clerk fees are now returned to the county general fund; and

     WHEREAS, James Dees is a member of Concord Baptist Church.  He and his wife have four children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and

     WHEREAS, Circuit Clerk James Dees' service has been marked by commitment to success and recognized leadership, sound judgment and fairness.  He continues to thank the wonderful citizens of Tippah County who have returned him to office in the past.  He has set the highest standard in all his roles, as father, husband, public official citizen and leader in Tippah County, the Mississippi Circuit Clerks Association and in the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Tippah County Circuit Clerk James E. Dees for 28 years of dedicated professional service to the people of Tippah County and the State of Mississippi on the occasion of his retirement and extend our best wishes to him and his family on this occasion.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to James Dees, forwarded to the Tippah County Board of Supervisors and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
