A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING BETH DAVIS OF IUKA, MISSISSIPPI, UPON HER INSTALLATION AS GOVERNOR OF THE MISSISSIPPI DISTRICT OF PILOT INTERNATIONAL.

     WHEREAS, Beth Davis, a 25-year member of the Pilot Club of Iuka, Mississippi, will be installed as Governor of the Mississippi District of Pilot International on April 16, 2011, at the District Convention in Tupelo, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, Beth has been a member of the Pilot Club of Iuka, Mississippi, since 1982 when she served as the Charter President.  She has been an active realtor for 33 years, with the last five being with Pickwick Premier Properties; and

     WHEREAS, Beth is involved in the Boys and Girls Club, Relay for Life, the Iuka Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society and Pickwick Yacht Club.  Beth is a past President of the Four-County Board of Realtors.  She was elected to the Iuka Board of Aldermen (1996-2000), and the beautification of downtown Iuka, Jay Bird Park in particular.  Beth is married to Neil Davis and they have twin daughters, Amanda and Jennifer; and

     WHEREAS, Pilot International was organized in 1921 in Macon, Georgia.  Today there are approximately 460 clubs in six different countries.  Pilot International is a distinguished group of caring individuals whose primary goals are friendship and service, and the mission is to improve the quality of life in communities throughout the world.  Pilot International's service focus is brain-related disorders and disabilities.  Currently there are 20 clubs in the Mississippi District with approximately 460 members; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we acknowledge the charitable contributions of this Mississippi citizen who has brought honor to her community and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize and commend Beth Davis of Iuka, Mississippi, upon her installation as Governor of the Mississippi District of Pilot International, and extend our best wishes to Beth and her family on this auspicious occasion.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Beth at her installation and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
