WHEREAS, led by Dandy Dozen prep star Bruce Steven's game-high 20 points, the Bay Springs High School "Bulldogs" Boys Basketball Team claimed their first State Title by defeating Okolona 74-58 on March 14, 2015, to claim the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 2A Championship; and

WHEREAS, the Bulldogs (24-7) raced out to a 22-9 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in the win.  Bay Springs led the Chieftains 37-24 at intermission and in a back-and-forth second half, the Bulldogs maintained their advantage by outscoring Okolona 37-34; and

WHEREAS, Bay Springs ended the season with eight straight wins to finish 25-7; and

WHEREAS, "The seniors stepped up when they needed to step up and helped bring that Gold Ball home," Bay Springs Head Coach Corey Mackey said; and

WHEREAS, the Region 8-2A Champion Bulldogs dispatched Lake (71-50), Loyd Star (76-46), Calhoun City (77-66) and Newton (68-61) before capturing the Gold Ball by dropping Okolona in the finals; and

WHEREAS, the 2014-2015 Bay Springs High School "Bulldogs" Boys Basketball Team Roster is:  Dakari Jenkins, Bruce Stevens, Javien Hamilton, Jaylan Cook, Ladaryus Wheaton, Mariuce Newell, Jonnas Spivey, Kevin Grimes, Zavan Brown, LaGregory Gammage, Nick Fenderson, Montell Billups and Shawn Crawford; and Head Coach Corey Mackey; and
