A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING DR. GABRIEL POSADAS FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" AT THE GEORGE COUNTY CENTER OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, has been selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the George County Center of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of his distinguished service to the college; and
WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of his or her teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas, a Biology Instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past four years; and
WHEREAS, dedicated to academic excellence, Dr. Gabriel Posadas received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, a Master of Biological Sciences degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Instructional Systems and Workforce Development from Mississippi State University; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Gabriel Posadas has worked as a masters and doctoral graduate teaching assistant for Mississippi State University, a graduate research assistant for the National Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center and an adjunct instructor for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College prior to his career as a Biology Instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend such an outstanding teacher as Dr. Posadas, who has dedicated his career to teaching the students of the State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Gabriel Posadas for being selected as "Instructor of the Year" at the George County Center of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and extend to him our most sincere wishes for success in all his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Dr. Gabriel Posadas, forwarded to the President of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
