Senate Concurrent Resolution 531
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION DESIGNATING SEPTEMBER 8-14, 2013, AS "PARALEGAL WEEK IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI."
WHEREAS, the paralegal profession provides an invaluable service to the legal profession as well as to the general public who utilize legal services; and
WHEREAS, many qualified paralegals are able to reduce the workload of their employers and reduce the costs incurred on behalf of their employers' clients during the course and scope of legal representation; and
WHEREAS, the paralegal profession encourages the continuing growth and education of paralegals in both the field of law and technology in order to better assist both their employers and their employers' clients; and
WHEREAS, Mississippi citizens should become aware of the paralegal profession and the benefits paralegals have to offer to the legal community:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby designate September 8-14, 2013, as "Paralegal Week in the State of Mississippi" to recognize the record of service and contribution of the paralegal profession to the practice of law in our state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be transmitted to The Mississippi Bar and to the various paralegal education programs in the state and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
