A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION MOURNING THE LOSS AND COMMENDING THE CIVIC CONTRIBUTIONS OF RICKY LESURE, MAYOR OF POTTS CAMP, MISSISSIPPI.

     WHEREAS, Mr. Ricky Lesure, who took office as Mayor of Potts Camp, Mississippi, in July 2009, passed away on October 5, 2011; and

     WHEREAS, by trade, Mayor Lesure was employed as a driver with Carolina National Trucking.  He was an active member of Powell Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and was a church deacon, usher and member of the male choir; and

     WHEREAS, Mayor Lesure was a graduate of Potts Camp High School where he participated in the baseball team and Agriculture Club.  He was Vice President of North Mississippi Community Care and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #107 in Blue Mountain, Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy Wilson Lesure; son, Reginald (Kissie) Lesure; two stepdaughters, LaQuandra Thompson and Samantha Tables; granddaughter, Azaria Lesure; special step-granddaughter, Alissa Lewis; God daughter, Kimberly Lesure; Mother, Ellar Reynolds Lesure; five sisters, Mildred (Terry) Burgess, Dorothy (Wesley) Pearson, Ella (Walter) Brown, Trevecca V. Lesure and Pearlie Hickman; and three brothers, James Lesure, Willie Lesure and Johnny Porter; and

     WHEREAS, it is with sadness that we note the passing of this respected public servant and member of his community and state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby mourn the passing and commend the civic contributions of Mayor Ricky Lesure of Potts Camp, Mississippi, and extend our sympathy to his surviving family.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be transmitted to the surviving family of Mayor Lesure, the Board of Aldermen of Potts Camp, Mississippi, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
