Senate Bill 3152
AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TOWN OF PICKENS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH CERTAIN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2025.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Town of Pickens, Mississippi, for the purpose of defraying the costs associated with certain infrastructure projects for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025 $ 760,000.00
SECTION 2. Of the funds appropriated under Section 1, the following amounts are to be allocated as follows:
To defray costs of resurfacing and repairing roadways and repairing sewer pipes in the Union Street area................ $ 300,000.00
To defray costs of acquiring new water pumps as well as repairing and improving water systems, including the booster station on State Highway 17......................................... $ 300,000.00
To defray costs of renovating, repairing, and improving the old city hall on Yazoo Street................................ $ 60,000.00
To defray costs of renovating, repairing, improving, and equipping a city park.......................................... $ 100,000.00
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
