AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF PRENTISS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF TISHOMINGO COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AND THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ALCORN COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO AUTHORIZE THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FROM EACH COUNTY'S INMATE CANTEEN FUND TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES THAT BENEFIT INMATES INCARCERATED IN THE COUNTY JAIL IN ADDITION TO THE PURCHASES AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 19-3-81, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  In addition any of the equipment or supplies authorized by Section 19-3-81, Mississippi Code of 1972, to be purchased utilizing money from the Inmate Canteen Fund, the Board of Supervisors of Prentiss County, Mississippi, the Board of Supervisors of Tishomingo County, Mississippi, and the Board of Supervisors of Alcorn County, Mississippi, in their discretion, may authorize the sheriff of each county to expend money in each county's Inmate Canteen Fund for the purchase of uniforms, recreational equipment, gardening supplies or equipment, bedding supplies, Internet services for the inmates, televisions, security cameras and other items of direct benefit to the inmates incarcerated in the county jail of each county.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
