Senate Bill 3044

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ITAWAMBA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONSTRUCT OR ACQUIRE A COUNTY JAIL ANYWHERE WITHIN THE COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 19-7-1, Mississippi Code of 1972, or any other provisions of law to the contrary, the Board of Supervisors of Itawamba County, Mississippi, is authorized, in its discretion, to construct or acquire a county jail anywhere within the county.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
