Senate Bill 3036
AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FROM BP SETTLEMENT FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THE INTERSTATE 10 CONNECTOR ROAD PHASES 2 AND 3; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the BP Settlement Fund established in Section 27-103-302 not otherwise appropriated to the Mississippi Department of Transportation for the purpose of providing funds for the Interstate 10 Connector Road Phases 2 and 3, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017, and ending June 30, 2018 $10,500,000.00
It is the intent of the Legislature that funds appropriated hereunder be allocated as follows:
Phase 2 - Doctor's Properties to Seaman Road. $4,500,000.00
Phase 3 - Victoria to Doctor's Properties.... $6,000,000.00
These allocations are based upon a five-lane curb and gutter roadway section with subsurface drainage and signalization of the intersections with Tucker Road and Seaman Road.
SECTION 2. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers, in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2017.
