AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 37-11-65, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH REQUIRES STUDENTS IN GRADES 7 THROUGH 12 TO BE SUSPENDED FROM PARTICIPATION IN EXTRACURRICULAR OR ATHLETIC ACTIVITY FOR FAILURE TO MAINTAIN A CERTAIN CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 37-11-65, Mississippi Code of 1972, which requires students in Grades 7 through 12 to be suspended from participation in extracurricular or athletic activity for failure to maintain a certain cumulative grade point average, is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
