Senate Bill 2993

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE "DONALD H. PETERSON MEMORIAL FUND"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Montgomery County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute a specific one-time donation from its general funds in an amount not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to the "Donald H. Peterson Memorial Fund." The donation shall be utilized to help establish and fund a suitable memorial located within the City of Winona to honor Colonel Donald H. Peterson, a native of the county and an accomplished National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Astronaut.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
