AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARSHALL COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE TO CHARITABLE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS EXEMPT FROM INCOME TAXATION UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Supervisors of Marshall County, Mississippi, is authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute from any available funds an amount not to exceed Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00) annually to charitable nonprofit organizations exempt from income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, specifically including North Mississippi Research Training and Development, Inc., Hearts and Hands, Hearn Grove Church, Mt. Zion Church, Habitat for Humanity and Davis Temple Church of the Living God, all of which operate food pantries.
(2) The provisions of this act shall be repealed from and after July 1, 2020.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
