AN ACT TO DIRECT THE STATE FISCAL OFFICER TO TRANSFER A CERTAIN AMOUNT TO A SPECIAL FUND FOR THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE AND GOVERNOR'S MANSION FROM SPECIAL FUND NO. 3996 FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSE OF UNUSED ACCRUED PERSONAL LEAVE PURSUANT TO SECTION 25-3-93(4), MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, AND FOR OTHER RELATED EXPENSES, FOR FISCAL YEARS 2012 AND 2013.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI: SECTION 1. During fiscal year 2012, no later than June 30th, 2012, the State Fiscal Officer shall transfer from the Department of Finance and Administration, Fund 3996, Seven Hundred Eighty-five Thousand Two Hundred Forty-four Dollars ($785,244.00) to the credit of a special fund created for the Governor's Office and the Governor's Mansion.
SECTION 2. It is the intention of the Legislature that the Governor's Office and Governor's Mansion shall have the authority to escalate its budget and expend funds from any source, and the total of these escalations shall not exceed Seven Hundred Eighty-five Thousand Two Hundred Forty-four Dollars ($785,244.00), for the purpose of paying unused accrued personal leave pursuant to Section 25-3-93(4), Mississippi Code of 1972, to the staff of the Governor's Administration for the term ending January 10, 2012, and other related expenses. This escalation shall be in accordance with rules and regulations of the Department of Finance and Administration in a manner consistent with the escalation of federal funds and for the period beginning upon passage, and through June 30, 2013.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
