Senate Bill 2899

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 9 IN PONTOTOC COUNTY SHALL REMAIN IN THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM; TO REQUIRE THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO MAINTAIN THAT SECTION OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 9; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The section of Mississippi Highway 9 beginning at the intersection of Mississippi Highway 9 and Mississippi Highway 6 in Pontotoc County and extending to Sherman in Pontotoc County shall remain in the state highway system.

     (2)  The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall continue to maintain that section of Mississippi Highway 9 in Pontotoc County.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
