AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 73-5-34, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DEFINE MOBILE BARBERSHOPS, PERMIT MOBILE BARBERSHOPS AND AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF BARBER EXAMINERS TO REGULATE MOBILE BARBERSHOPS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 73-5-34, Mississippi Code of 1972:
73-5-34. (1) In this section, "mobile shop" means a facility that is readily movable and where barbering is practiced other than at a fixed location.
(2) A barbershop licensed under Section 73-5-33 may be a mobile shop.
(3) The Board of Barber Examiners may adopt regulations to administer this section, including regulations providing for:
(a) The licensing or permitting of a mobile shop;
(b) The fees for a mobile shop in accordance with Section 73-5-33;
(c) The operation of a mobile shop;
(d) Reporting requirements for a mobile shop; and
(e) The inspection of a mobile shop.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2020.
