Senate Bill 2795

AN ACT TO DESIGNATE THE KEMP'S RIDLEY, THE MOST ENDANGERED SEA TURTLE IN THE WORLD, AS THE "OFFICIAL STATE SEA TURTLE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Kemp's Ridley, the most endangered sea turtle in the world, which is native to Mississippi, is hereby designated the "Official State Sea Turtle of the State of Mississippi."

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
