Senate Bill 2668

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 3-3-17, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DESIGNATE THE AMERICAN BLACK BEAR AS ONE OF THE STATE LAND MAMMALS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 3-3-17, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     3-3-17.  The white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), the red fox (Vulpes vulpes) and the American black bear (Ursus Americanus) are designated the state land mammals of Mississippi.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
