Senate Bill 2606

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT WHEN A HIGHWAY IS DELETED FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM AND RETURNED TO THE JURISDICTION OF A COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS THAT HIGHWAY SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE STATE AID ROAD SYSTEM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  When a highway is deleted from the state highway system, removed from the jurisdiction of the Mississippi Transportation Commission and returned to the jurisdiction of the county board of supervisors, that highway shall be placed in the state aid road program if the county is qualified to receive state aid road funds.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
