AN ACT TO DESIGNATE THAT SEGMENT OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 6 WITHIN LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "MILITARY ORDER OF THE PURPLE HEART HIGHWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  That segment of Mississippi Highway 6 within Lafayette County, Mississippi, shall be known and designated as the "Military Order of the Purple Heart Highway."

     (2)  The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the highway.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
