Senate Bill 2379
AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTIONS 97-33-33, 97-33-35 AND 97-33-37, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH RELATE TO CERTAIN PROHIBITIONS AGAINST THE ADVERTISING OF A LOTTERY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 97-33-33, Mississippi Code of 1972, which prohibits the advertising of any lottery, is repealed.
SECTION 2. Section 97-33-35, Mississippi Code of 1972, which prohibits any newspaper published or circulated in this state from advertising any lottery, is repealed.
SECTION 3. Section 97-33-37, Mississippi Code of 1972, which prohibits a person from selling any newspaper or other publication containing a lottery advertisement, is repealed.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
