AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 69-25-47, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO SUBJECT VIOLATIONS RELATED TO NOXIOUS WEEDS TO ADMINISTRATIVE AND CIVIL PENALTIES; TO AMEND SECTION 69-25-109, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO SUBJECT VIOLATIONS RELATED TO BEE DISEASES TO ADMINISTRATIVE AND CIVIL PENALTIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 69-25-47, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
69-25-47. (1) Any person who * * * violates * * * this article, or applicable rules and regulations * * * or * * * any notice * * * or * * * forges, counterfeits, defaces, destroys or wrongfully uses any certificate * * * is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, * * * shall be punished by a fine of not more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months or by both such fine and imprisonment * * *.
(2) Any person who violates this article or applicable rules and regulations is subject to administrative and civil penalties as provided in Sections 69-25-51 through 69-25-63.
SECTION 2. Section 69-25-109, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
69-25-109. (1) Any person, firm or corporation violating * * * this article or * * * the applicable rules or regulations * * * is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months in the county jail.
(2) Any person violating this article or applicable rules and regulations is subject to the administrative and civil penalties as provided in Sections 69-25-51 through 69-25-63.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
