AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 65-3-71.164, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DESIGNATE THE DESCRIPTION OF THE SIGN FOR THE MISSISSIPPI GOLD STAR MEMORIAL HIGHWAY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 65-3-71.164, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
65-3-71.164. (1) That segment of U.S. Interstate 59 beginning at Exit 5 in the City of Picayune and extending northerly to the southern corporate limits of the City of Hattiesburg shall be known and designated as the "Mississippi Gold Star Memorial Highway."
(2) (a) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the highway.
(b) The signs shall contain a five-pointed gold star in the center on a white background with a red border.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
