Senate Bill 2236

AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS TO THE MISSISSIPPI HERITAGE, HISTORY AND CULTURE TOURISM FUND, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING MATCHING FUNDS FOR AVAILABLE FEDERAL NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA (NHA) FUNDS TO SUPPORT TOURISM PROGRAMS IN THE MISSISSIPPI HILLS REGION, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Mississippi Heritage, History and Culture Tourism Fund established in Section 6 of Chapter 533, Laws of 2010, for the purpose of providing matching funds for available federal National Heritage Area (NHA) funds to support cultural and heritage tourism programs in the Mississippi Hills Region as determined necessary by the Mississippi Hills Heritage Area Alliance (MHHAA), for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012............................. $1,000,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
