AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 37-4-5, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE STATE BOARD FOR COMMUNITY AND JUNIOR COLLEGES TO "MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 37-4-5, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

37-4-5. From and after July 1, 2011, the term "Junior College Commission" and "State Board for Community and Junior Colleges" whenever they shall appear in the laws of the State of Mississippi shall mean and be construed to mean the "Mississippi Community College Board." The Mississippi Community College Board shall issue necessary guidelines for the implementation of the board's name change.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
