Senate Bill 2121

AN ACT TO ALLOW MENTALLY HANDICAPPED PERSONS TO HUNT DURING ANY SPECIAL YOUTH SEASON ESTABLISHED BY THE COMMISSION ON WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS; TO EXEMPT THOSE PERSONS FROM OBTAINING A LICENSE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  A person who is mentally handicapped may hunt during any special youth season established by the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.  A mentally handicapped person is exempt from obtaining a hunting or fishing license.

     (2)  A mentally handicapped person must be accompanied by another person to assist in hunting, killing, tracking and retrieving any game.

     (3)  A mentally handicapped person must have in his possession any proof of disability that the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks may require.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2019.
