Senate Bill 2064

AN ACT TO CREATE SECTION 27-104-163, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO PUBLISH ON ITS SEARCHABLE WEBSITE A COMPREHENSIVE DATABASE LISTING ALL AGENCY PERSONNEL WHOSE ANNUAL SALARY EXCEEDS A CERTAIN AMOUNT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The following shall be codified as Section 27-104-163, Mississippi Code of 1972:

     27-104-163.  The Department of Finance and Administration shall publish on its searchable website a comprehensive database listing all agency personnel whose annual salary exceeds Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00).  The database shall include the employee's name, agency employer, job title and annual salary.  The department shall update the list at least once every fiscal year.  Each agency shall fully cooperate with the Department of Finance and Administration in obtaining the necessary information for the database.  Each agency shall annually submit to the Department of Finance and Administration, in a format prescribed by the department, a list including the name, job title, and salary for each employee whose annual salary exceeds Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00).  For purposes of this section, the term "agency" shall have the meaning as provided in Section 27-104-153.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
