AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, ACTING ON BEHALF OF THE MISSISSIPPI BUREAU OF NARCOTICS, TO TRANSFER CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN NEWTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF NEWTON; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Department of Finance and Administration, acting on behalf of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, is authorized to transfer the real property described below and located in Newton County, Mississippi, to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Newton. The following description is based on the Mississippi State Plane Coordinate System, East Zone, NAD 83 (2011), Grid Values, (U.S. Survey Feet), using a combined factor of 0.999946278 and a convergence angle of minus (-) 00 degrees 09 minutes 39.12 seconds calculated at the commencing point of the following description:
Commencing at a reset cotton picker spindle, countersunk 4" below the surface of the asphalt runway on the J.H. Easom Field, marking the southeast corner of Section 35, Township 6 North, Range 11 East, being defined as N: 1022503.23 feet, E: 891269.72 feet on the above referenced coordinate system; thence North 44 degrees 36 minutes 23 seconds East a distance of 698.44 feet to a found 1/2" rebar being further defined as N: 1023000.49 feet, E: 891760.19 feet on the above referenced coordinate system and the POINT OF BEGINNING of the herein described parcel of land; thence North 45 degrees 08 minutes 02 seconds West a distance of 792.07 feet to a point being a set 1/2" rebar; thence South 89 degrees 00 minutes 04 seconds East a distance of 163.85 feet to a point being a set 1/2" rebar; thence South 00 degrees 53 minutes 56 seconds West a distance of 75.00 feet to a point being a set 1/2" rebar; thence South 89 degrees 00 minutes 21 seconds East a distance of 556.86 feet to a point being a set 1/2" rebar in an existing fence line; thence along said fence line run South 00 degrees 31 minutes 35 seconds West a distance of 473.90 feet to a point being a set 1/2" rebar; thence leaving said fence line run North 89 degrees 01 minutes 12 seconds West a distance of 153.71 feet back to the point of beginning. The herein described parcel of land contains 4.55 acres more or less, being situated in and a part of the SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of said Section 35 and a part of the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 36, all in said Township 6 North, Range 11 East, Newton County, Mississippi.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
