A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE 2013-2014 RETIREES OF THE GREENWOOD PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THEIR MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE.

     WHEREAS, the following persons have retired or announced their intentions to retire from the Greenwood Public School District during the 2013-2014 school year:  Stefenie R. Lott. elementary Teacher, 30 years of service; Charles Holland, In-School Suspension Monitor/Parent Center Liaison, 17.25 years of service; Virginia Howard, Elementary Teacher/Assistant Teacher, 31 years of service; Essie Glass, Elementary Teacher, 21.25 years of service; Donald Alderson, NJROTC Instructor, 24 years of service; Marion T. Beasy, Elementary Teacher, 16.75 years of service; Linley Milner, Elementary Teacher/Cooperative Education Supervisor, 29.25 years of service; Annette Mize, Special Education Teacher, 32.5 years of service; Viola Parnell, Elementary Teacher, 24 years of service; Gay Allen Redditt, Special Education Teacher, 23 years of service; Doris Cheeks, Assistant Teacher, 30 years of service; Ruby Hayes, Assistant Teacher, 29.25 years of service; and Pamela K. Inman, Assistant Teacher, 25.25 years of service; and

     WHEREAS, through tireless dedication and loving patience over many years, these treasured educators and staff members of the Greenwood School District have made Mississippi a better state by teaching, both in the classroom and as positive role models, the state's children to become productive, God-fearing, responsible citizens who will write the next chapter in the book of Mississippi's history; and

     WHEREAS, these priceless individuals have greatly contributed to the success of the Greenwood Public School District and will be sorely missed by the schools and offices in which they served; and

     WHEREAS, the citizens of Greenwood and the entire State of Mississippi owe an immeasurable debt to these retirees of the Greenwood Public School District as they enjoy the lighter days of their long-awaited retirement; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to respectfully acknowledge the 2013-2014 retirees of the Greenwood Public School District who, by laying a firm educational foundation on which untold numbers of Greenwood students may build their future success, have greatly benefited not only the individual lives of many, but the entire State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize, commend and congratulate the 2013-2014 retirees of the Greenwood Public School District and express to these dedicated educators and staff members our sincere appreciation for their selfless service in educating the youth of this state.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to each of the retirees named in this resolution, the Board of Trustees of the Greenwood Public School District and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
