A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE WALTER ROBINSON, JR., FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE MISSISSIPPI HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

     WHEREAS, after many years of dedicated service to the citizens of House District 63, which includes parts of Hinds County, the Honorable Walter Robinson, Jr., a distinguished member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, will make the 2011 legislative year his last; and

     WHEREAS, the Honorable Walter Robinson, Jr., began his legislative service in 1984 after being elected by the citizens of District 63, and was sworn into office on January 3, 1984, at the commencement of the 1984 Regular Session of the Mississippi Legislature; and

     WHEREAS, he has utilized the wisdom and experience he has accrued over the years to guide him in his duties as Chairman of  the House Insurance Committee and as a member of the Fees and Salaries of Public Officers, Municipalities, Judiciary A, Judiciary En Banc, PEER, Rules, and Ways and Means Committees; and

     WHEREAS, born October 9, 1947, in Bolton, Mississippi, Representative Walter Robinson, driven by the values instilled in him by his parents, graduated from Mississippi Valley State University before beginning a successful business career as a funeral director; and

     WHEREAS, during his tenure as Chairman of Insurance, he has developed a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable people in that area; and

     WHEREAS, throughout the years, Representative Robinson has utilized his leadership skills in the community as an active leader in his hometown community of Bolton; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Robinson is a strong man of Baptist faith, and he has been supported in every endeavor embarked upon by his family:  wife, Jeardine Jones Robinson; sons, Walter and RaVaughn; and grandchildren, Amber, Kimberly and Crystal; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to honor one of our own, who has represented his district, as well as this legislative body, with honor and dignity:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Representative Walter Robinson, Jr., for his legislative legacy with the Mississippi House of Representatives and extend heartiest wishes in all his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Walter Robinson, Jr., and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
