A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS OF DR. JASON AND MRS. CYNTHIA COLEMAN FOR OPENING THEIR HOME FOR STORM VICTIMS THROUGHOUT NORTH MISSISSIPPI WHOSE HOMES AND LIVES WERE RAVAGED.

     Whereas, Dr. Jason and Mrs. Cynthia Coleman opened their home and welcomed victims of a deadly storm that ravaged the homes and lives of residents of North Mississippi; and

     WHEREAS, after the vicious storm that struck North Mississippi destroyed numerous homes and displaced a number of residents, Dr. Jason and Mrs. Cynthia Coleman's home remained untouched; and

     WHEREAS, after Dr. and Mrs. Coleman witnessed the damage to the homes and lives of their neighbors, they felt blessed to have their home untouched during the storm; and

     WHEREAS, they received this blessing as a sign that they should be a blessing to others, which motivated them to open their home to offer food and shelter to members of their community who were displaced; and

     WHEREAS, news of the Colemans' selfless acts and humanitarian efforts spread quickly on social media and motivated a number of local restaurants to sponsor and donate food to assist the Colemans in meeting the needs of the displaced families; and

     WHEREAS, the Hernando community and many residents of North Mississippi have rallied around Dr. and Mrs. Coleman to show their appreciation for their acts of kindness; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to celebrate the humanitarian efforts of Mississippians who sacrifice for the greater good of their neighbors, and our state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, We do hereby celebrate and commend Dr. Jason and Mrs. Cynthia Coleman for their humanitarian efforts in opening their home to provide food and shelter for displaced families in this great state.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Dr. Jason and Mrs. Cynthia Coleman and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
