A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF PIERSON WARING AND WESLEY ALDRIDGE AS OUTSTANDING STUDENT ATHLETES, CITIZENS AND LEADERS HONORED ON MISSISSIPPI'S OBSERVANCE OF THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA DAY XXXX ON MARCH 1, 2010.

     WHEREAS, the first Monday in March is traditionally observed as The Spirit of America Day in Mississippi, upon which awards to deserving student athletes, citizens and leaders are bestowed; and

     WHEREAS, recipients of The Spirit of America awards symbolize the very finest example to their schools, families and communities, as these students inspire other young people to work hard and give back to the community; and

     WHEREAS, Pierson Waring of Saint Aloysius High School in Vicksburg and Wesley Aldridge of Delta Academy in Marks have distinguished themselves as outstanding Mississippi student athletes, citizens and leaders of 2010; and

     WHEREAS, these fine young men will be honored by America's Foundation on The Spirit of America Day XXXX, in a ceremony held in the capital city of Jackson, Mississippi, on March 1, 2010; and

     WHEREAS, the endeavors of these individual students to be productive and contributing members of society provide the model example for other students to pattern themselves after, in efforts of becoming notable and model citizens for future generations to come; and

     WHEREAS, the honor bestowed upon these young men brings great honor to their families, schools, communities and state, which reflect the positive attributes of the quality education provided by the teachers and school administrators throughout our great state; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize the accomplishments of the youth of our state, who are making great strides to effectuate positive change in the lives of their peers and a difference in their communities, as they become the future leaders of our state and nation:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Pierson Waring and Wesley Aldridge upon being honored and recognized as outstanding student athletes, citizens and leaders on The Spirit of America Day XXXX, and extend warmest wishes for their continued success in their future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Pierson Waring, Wesley Aldridge and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
