WHEREAS, on February 9, 2017, Wallace and Nell Majors of Gulfport, Mississippi, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, a truly momentous anniversary that signifies a lifetime of love and commitment to one another; and
WHEREAS, Wallace and Nell became Mr. and Mrs. Majors after exchanging the vows of holy matrimony before God and a host of family and friends on February 9, 1957, and since the day they said, "I do", the precious, selfless love shared between the two soul mates has only been rivaled by the tender, boundless love they share for their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and
WHEREAS, from this union made in Heaven, God blessed them with three exceptional children, William Wallace Majors, Jr., Rebecca Lynn Majors and Cherri Carol Majors; a wonderful daughter-in-law and two sons-in-law, Cindi Jolly Majors, Michael Reid Mills, Sr., and Lee Andrew Kirk; 10 beautiful grandchildren; and three completely adored and perfect great-grandchildren and one on the way; and
WHEREAS, throughout their marriage, Wallace and Nell have prayed diligently for one another and for their children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on a daily basis, and they have seen the Lord answer their faithful prayers for the salvation of each child and grandchild; and
WHEREAS, Wallace and Nell have experienced heartache, yet learned to trust God through the pain, laughed together and at one another, and ultimately grown closer together, and their love and adoration for God and for one another inspire every couple that crosses their affectionate path to honor their spouse and treat their partner with respect, support each other's goals and ambitions and most importantly, to love as Jesus loves, unconditionally; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and celebrate the marital relationships of fine Mississippians, especially those such as Mr. and Mrs. Majors, who continue to inspire their community with their unceasing, enduring love and respect for one another after 60 years of marriage and bringing honor to the great State of Mississippi:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Wallace Majors and Mrs. Annelle Majors upon the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and express best wishes in all of their future endeavors.
