A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MARK HUBBARD OF OCEAN SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL ON BEING NAMED MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR.
WHEREAS, Ocean Springs High School Athletic Director Mark Hubbard has been chosen by a vote of the state's athletic directors as Athletic Director of the Year by the Mississippi High School Activities Association; and
WHEREAS, in Hubbard's six years as athletic director, Ocean Springs High School has won forty-four district championships, seven south state championships and twelve state championships; and
WHEREAS, the school's accomplishments during Hubbard's tenure have come from several areas of athletics, namely varsity baseball, varsity boys soccer, boys and girls cross country, cheer, dance and tennis; and
WHEREAS, with strong athletic and academics being the hallmark of Ocean Springs High School, Mark Hubbard's goal from the beginning was for every program to compete for championships year to year; and
WHEREAS, before becoming athletic director, Hubbard served for two years as the school's assistant principal and before that he was the boys basketball coach for seven years; and
WHEREAS, Ocean Springs High School athletics has flourished under the guidance of Mark Hubbard and through community-wide support; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi to commend and congratulate excellence, especially when evidenced by exemplary accomplishments such as those achieved by Mark Hubbard:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ocean Springs High School Athletic Director Mark Hubbard on being named Athletic Director of the Year by the Mississippi High School Activities Association.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mark Hubbard and Ocean Springs High School and that copies be made available to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
