A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. ANDREA' HIGHTOWER ON BEING CROWNED MISS MISSISSIPPI COLLEGIATE 2018, AND FOR HER MANY IMPRESSIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
WHEREAS, Ms. Andrea' Hightower has been selected to reign as Miss Mississippi Collegiate 2018; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hightower is an Oxford, Mississippi, native, where she is currently attending the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), and works hard to pursue her academics; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Hightower's selfless attitude and passion for the underserved have motivated her to become an advocate and member of the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) and to focus on educating, advocating for, listening and assisting families with loved ones who suffer from a mental illness; and
WHEREAS, this uniquely gifted young lady will compete at the Miss Collegiate America Pageant in June 2018, and showcase her intellect and special talents; and
WHEREAS, the Miss Collegiate America Pageant competition exists for the purposes of providing personal and professional opportunities for collegiate women and allows outstanding ladies, such as Ms. Hightower, the opportunity to compete in a pageant system that has high moral values; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor the young adults of Mississippi, especially those such as Ms. Andrea' Hightower, who exceed expectations with unwavering hard work, generous volunteerism and high scholastic achievements:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Andrea' Hightower on being crowned Miss Mississippi Collegiate 2018, and for her many impressive accomplishments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Andrea' Hightower, her parents and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
