A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING MASTER SERGEANT DANNY MILLS FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED CAREER, MERITORIOUS LEADERSHIP AND OUTSTANDING SERVICE UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS.
WHEREAS, after 32 years of outstanding service to the State of Mississippi, Master Sergeant Danny Mills retired from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) in January 2023; and
WHEREAS, throughout his distinguished career with the MDWFP, which began in January 1991, Master Sergeant Mills has served as
a hunter education instructor, boating education instructor, hunter incident investigator, certified in boating under the influence (BUI), and AIMS instructor; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career with the department, Master Sergeant Mills faced dangerous situations that demanded he put his life on the line, but each time the call came, he fearlessly and bravely rushed into perilous predicaments and responded to a variety of events, such as natural disasters including Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and the Marshall County tornado in 2015; locating lost hunters, boaters and other outdoor recreational users within the state; recovery of drowning victims in private and public waters in the state; and other emergency events; and
WHEREAS, Master Sergeant Mills's indomitable grit, dexterous abilities and passionate determination will be dearly missed by all of his colleagues and others who were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with him and experience his greatness; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to pay tribute to extraordinary Mississippians, especially those such as Master Sergeant Danny Mills, whose dauntless fortitude and outstanding leadership will always be remembered:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Master Sergeant Danny Mills for his distinguished career, meritorious leadership and outstanding service upon the occasion of his retirement from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, and extend most sincere wishes for his continued success in his lighter days ahead.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Master Sergeant Danny Mills and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
