A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE DAVID "TAD" CAMPBELL FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE MISSISSIPPI HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND CONGRATULATING HIM UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.
WHEREAS, Representative David "Tad" Campbell, a distinguished member of the Mississippi House of Representatives representing the citizens of House District 84, which includes parts of Clarke, Jasper, Lauderdale and Newton Counties, will make the 2011 legislative year his last when he retires from the Legislature at the end of the current term of office; and
WHEREAS, born May 10, 1970, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Representative Campbell graduated from Meridian Community College with an associate of arts degree and the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor of arts degree before earning his juris doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law; and
WHEREAS, Representative Campbell, an attorney in private practice, serves the House of Representatives as a member of the following House committees: Agriculture, Conservation and Water Resources, Medicaid, Transportation, and Universities and Colleges; and
WHEREAS, a quiet man who has considered it an honor to serve House District 84, Representative Campbell has consistently voted for limited government, individual liberty, economic freedom and lower taxes; and
WHEREAS, Representative Campbell, a devout member of the Baptist faith, is looking forward to spending more time upon his retirement from the Legislature with his loving and supportive wife, the former Laura Grice, and their two wonderful children, Joshua, a 10th grader, and AnnaLaura, a 7th grader; and
WHEREAS, Representative Campbell's trustworthy demeanor has complemented his knowledgeable understanding of a myriad of issues he has faced during his tenure in the Legislature, and his positive personality on those who have had the pleasure of working closely with him will be missed in the coming years; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to honor one of our own, who has represented his district, as well as this legislative body, with honor and dignity:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Representative David "Tad" Campbell for his dedicated service to the citizens of House District 84 and the State of Mississippi and extend to him congratulations and heartiest wishes on the occasion of his retirement from the Mississippi House of Representatives.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Tad Campbell and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
