A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE SOUTH PANOLA HIGH SCHOOL TIGERS JUNIOR VARSITY CHEERLEADING TEAM FOR WINNING THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR VARSITY GAME DAY CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE UCA NATIONAL CHEER CHAMPIONSHIP AND FOR SECURING THE FIRST UCA NATIONAL TITLE IN SCHOOL HISTORY.

     WHEREAS, the South Panola High School Tigers Junior Varsity Cheerleading Team delivered an outstanding performance at the UCA National Cheer Championship held in Orlando, Florida, on February 2, 2026, capturing the National High School Junior Varsity Game Day Championship and marking a historic milestone as the first Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) National title in the proud history of South Panola High School; and

     WHEREAS, the competition in Orlando brought together some of the most talented cheer squads from across the nation, requiring exceptional precision, coordination, athleticism and spirit, all of which were exemplified by the South Panola Junior Varsity Cheerleaders as they performed with excellence on the national stage; and

     WHEREAS, alongside this remarkable achievement, the South Panola High School Varsity Cheerleaders also represented their school with distinction, competing in the largest division of the National High School Game Day Championship and finishing among the top 30% of teams nationwide, demonstrating the depth of talent and dedication within the South Panola cheer program; and

     WHEREAS, the members of the South Panola High School Junior Varsity Cheer Team whose commitment, discipline and teamwork led them to this historic national championship include:  Maggey Austin, Mckenzie Blackburn, Lyla Kate Burkes, Alyssia Burnette, Melanie Cannon, Adilyn Cole, Brooke Copeland, Harlee Kate Crumpler, Katie Daniel, Marlee Donahue, Ava Eckles, Amiyah Farmer, Sara Henri Hannaford, Mari Preslee Helms, Abbey Kate Johnson, Kadynce Johnson, Jermiyah Lee, Baylee Little, Braydee Clair Little, Annalynn Morgan, Peyton Nicholson, Raimah Poole, Alycia Robertson, Taylor Russell, Lela Sanford, Khloe Sneed, Hanna Talley, Destiney Thompson, Madison Turner, Adie Ware and Taniyah Willingham; and

     WHEREAS, guiding these talented student-athletes to national success are coaches Mary Booth, Sara Helen Ware, Tori Beth Jenkins and Aerial Sanford, whose leadership, encouragement and dedication to excellence helped cultivate the discipline, teamwork and confidence necessary to achieve this historic victory; and

     WHEREAS, the success of the South Panola High School Junior Varsity Cheerleaders reflects not only the determination of the athletes and coaches but also the steadfast support of faculty, administrators, parents, students and the entire South Panola community, whose encouragement and pride inspire these young athletes to strive for greatness; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend outstanding achievements by Mississippi student-athletes whose hard work, perseverance and dedication bring honor to their schools, their communities and the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the South Panola High School Tigers Junior Varsity Cheerleading Team for winning the National High School Junior Varsity Game Day Championship at the UCA National Cheer Championship and for securing the first UCA National title in school history, and extend best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to coaches Mary Booth, Sara Helen Ware, Tori Beth Jenkins and Aerial Sanford on behalf of the South Panola High School Junior Varsity Cheerleading Team, the administration of the South Panola School District, and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
