A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING ELI EDMONDSON OF VARDAMAN ATTENDANCE CENTER UPON CAPTURING THE 2025 MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 1A INDIVIDUAL STATE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, Eli Edmondson, a talented and gifted junior who attends Vardaman Attendance Center, is being celebrated and honored upon winning the 2025 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 1A Individual State Golf Championship; and
WHEREAS, on October 31, 2025, at Hillandale in Corinth, Mississippi, Eli won his first state golf title shooting a dynamic two-day total of 140, two under par; and
WHEREAS, this magnificent win was solidified after Eli held a four-stroke lead entering day two due to his aggressive playing style that he normally executes; and
WHEREAS, although Eli earned top honors, he also helped his team to a state runner-up finish, which is a testament of the overall talent of the Vardaman Rams; and
WHEREAS, as one who always looks to improve his performance, Eli took his win in stride and is motivated to build on his success as an individual state champion as he continues to work hard on his golf game through diligence and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Eli has developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship and his activities and attitude reflect great credit upon his parents, teammates and coaches and brings great honor to Vardaman Attendance Center and Calhoun County, Mississippi, as a whole; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, such as Eli, who are its future:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Eli Edmondson upon winning the 2025 MHSAA Class 1A Individual State Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to his athletic endeavors, and wish him continued success both on and off the golf course.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Eli Edmondson, the Vardaman Attendance Center Golf Coaches on behalf of the golf team as well as Vardaman Attendance Center Principal Lucas Ferguson and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
