A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING LEE BOOZER, AFFECTIONATELY KNOWN AS "MR. RIDGELAND HIGH," UPON HIS RETIREMENT AFTER 10 YEARS AS PRINCIPAL OF RIDGELAND HIGH SCHOOL.

     WHEREAS, Lee Boozer officially retired as Principal of Ridgeland High School on November 30, 2011, after 10 years of dedicated service to its faculty, staff and students; and

     WHEREAS, Lee is affectionately known as "Mr. Ridgeland High" by students and teachers alike, and he has been the only principal at the school since it opened in 2002; and

     WHEREAS, he fostered a strong reputation for extracurricular activities, athletics and, most importantly in his mind, academics, leading the Titans to become a perennial Level 5 and Star school, the state's highest academic designations; and

     WHEREAS, Principal Boozer instilled a compassion for education in the faculty, staff and students at Ridgeland High School, encouraging them to follow the simple mantra "Do Right" and always remember that, "It's a great day to be a Titan"; and

     WHEREAS, Madison County Superintendent Ronnie McGehee praised his work and stated, "As the first leader of any institution, Mr. Boozer set the tone for the school.  He will be missed by the teachers, students and community"; and

     WHEREAS, he is an avid outdoorsman and man of strong Christian faith who is a member of Pinelake Baptist Church, and he intends to spend much of his retirement in the outdoors, volunteering with Pinelake Church and in return visits to Ridgeland High School; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend such an outstanding educator and leader of the youth of our state, who are its future:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Lee Boozer upon his retirement after 10 years as Principal of Ridgeland High School and extend best wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Lee Boozer and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
