A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE OF MRS. DONNA WELLS, FORMER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE CRYSTAL SPRINGS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT.

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Donna Wells of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, the former Executive Director of the Crystal Springs Chamber of Commerce, retired from the organization at the end of 2014 after 16 years of distinguished service and dedicated leadership to the many individuals and businesses comprising the chamber membership as well as the entire local community; and

     WHEREAS, the daughter of Mr. Thomas Yelverton and the late Mrs. V.L. Yelverton, Mrs. Wells grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, and graduated from Wingfield High School; and

     WHEREAS, during her tenure as the Executive Director of the Crystal Springs Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Wells worked diligently with the city's business and government leaders to promote job retention and growth by fostering a thriving business community and high quality of life for all residents of the community; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Wells, highly respected throughout the City of Crystal Springs for her whole-hearted service to the community, has been a powerful influence for good, having bettered the small city throughout the years by generously volunteering countless hours of service to various worthwhile community efforts and local civic organizations when not engaged in the official business of the chamber; and

     WHEREAS, Mrs. Wells and her husband, Larry, are devout members of Crystal Springs United Methodist Church, where they faithfully worship and participate in a variety of activities; and

     WHEREAS, the City of Crystal Springs and the lives of its individual citizens of all ages and walks of life have been greatly enriched due to the loyal service and exceptional leadership of Mrs. Wells in her position with the chamber and as a giving and caring member of the community who is admired and well-loved by all who have had the privilege of knowing and working with her; and

     WHEREAS, although her decision to officially say goodbye to her fellow employees in the Crystal Springs Chamber of Commerce was not made lightly, Mrs. Wells, who looks forward to increased opportunities to travel with her husband, has already begun to enjoy the lighter days of retirement by spending more time at home with:  her loving and devoted husband of many years, Larry Wells; their four sons and their wives, Caleb and Carlie Wells, Kevin and Martha Wells, Nathan and Amanda Wells, and Joseph and Casey Wells; and especially, their five precious grandchildren, Ryleigh, Parker, Luke, Jeremiah and Sam Wells; and

     WHEREAS, it is most appropriate that this Legislature respectfully acknowledge the outstanding service and dedicated leadership rendered by Mrs. Donna Wells as Executive Director of the Crystal Springs Chamber of Commerce, a dedicated servant whose tireless commitment to bettering her community and selfless spirit of giving have significantly benefited not only the individual lives of her fellow citizens, but the entire State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend the distinguished service of Mrs. Donna Wells upon the occasion of her retirement as Executive Director of the Crystal Springs Chamber of Commerce after 16 years of outstanding leadership and extend to her sincerest wishes for a long and healthy retirement marked by continued success in all of her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Donna Wells and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
