House Bill 924
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE STATE-CHARTERED BANKS, CREDIT UNIONS OR OTHER FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SERVICES TO ANY LICENSED MEDICAL CANNABIS ESTABLISHMENT THAT IS REGISTERED WITH AND REGULATED BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Subject to any provisions of federal law, a
state-chartered bank, credit union or other financial institution may provide financial services, including, but not limited to, opening accounts and accepting deposits, to any licensed medical cannabis establishment that is registered with and regulated by the Mississippi State Department of Health.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2022.
