House Bill 911

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT ANY STATE INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING OR PUBLIC COMMUNITY OR JUNIOR COLLEGE OF THIS STATE FROM USING ANY STATE APPROPRIATED FUNDS FOR ANY EXPENSES OF ITS ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT BEGINNING ON JULY 1, 2014; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Beginning on July 1, 2014, no state institution of higher learning or public community or junior college of this state shall use any state appropriated funds for any expenses of the athletics department of that institution or college.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2012.
