House Bill 714

AN ACT TO REQUIRE ANY PERSON WHO FINDS A HUMAN BODY, OR ANY PART OF A HUMAN BODY TO REPORT TO THE APPROPRIATE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL THE LOCATION AND TIME OF DISCOVERY OF THE BODY OR BODY PART; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Any person who finds a human body, or any part of a human body, shall report the location and the time of discovery  of the body or body part to the appropriate law enforcement official.  Failure to report such finding in a timely manner shall result in a fine, in an amount of not more than Fifty Dollars ($50.00).

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2017.
