House Bill 651

AN ACT TO REVISE THE STANDARD OF CARE OWED BY PROPERTY OWNERS TO GUESTS AND BUSINESS INVITEES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  A person owning or having any interest in real property shall not be civilly liable to a guest or business invitee on the premises for any injuries or damages arising out of the condition of the property or any act or omission of the property owner or person having any interest in the property except upon clear and convincing proof of willful, wanton or grossly negligent conduct.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
