AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE WORKING CASH-STABILIZATION RESERVE FUND TO THE MEDICAL CARE FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPENSATING MISSISSIPPI HOSPITALS FOR THE AMOUNT OF THE REDUCTION IN DISPROPORTIONATE SHARE HOSPITAL (DSH) PAYMENTS FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO MISSISSIPPI DURING FISCAL YEAR 2014.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Working Cash-Stabilization Reserve Fund, to the Medical Care Fund created in Section 43-13-143, Mississippi Code of 1972, for the purpose of compensating Mississippi hospitals for the amount of the reduction in Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) payments from the federal government to Mississippi during fiscal year 2014, for the period beginning upon the passage of this act and ending June 30, 2014.....................................

SECTION 2. The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Working Cash-Stabilization Reserve Fund, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
