House Bill 528
AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 43-12-73, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO ASSIGN CERTAIN RECIPIENTS OF SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SNAP) BENEFITS TO AN EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAM AS A CONDITION OF PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 43-12-73, Mississippi Code of 1972:
43-12-73. (1) This section shall be known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Employment Training and Skills Act.
(2) The Department of Human Services shall assign individuals subject to requirements established under 7 USC Section 2015(d)(1), but not subject to requirements established under 7 USC Section 2015(o), to an employment and training program as defined in 7 USC Section 2015(d)(4).
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2020.
